Sunday at Grays Park on 33rd and Windsor (of course!) was the great East Van Rib Off. Windsor Meats and a few local BBQ lovers with team names like Jack the Ribber and Braise the Lord got together and challenge each other to see who can make the best ribs. This is the fourth Rib Off and our first but we can see this event becoming more famous or infamous and more attendees joining next year.
We made PEI beef ribs that had been smoked for 20 hours.
Windsor was caught off guard as sides were also taken into consideration and we had not planned on that. Still, we did pretty well and after a short rest we fought off the meat sweats with intense games of bocce. We definitely will be back next year with more killer meat.
