Preparing Your Ribs

Start by selecting a rack of our premium hormone free pork ribs. For the best results, you’ll want to prepare your ribs by removing the membrane on the underside. This makes them more tender and allows the rub to better penetrate the meat.

The Basic Dry Rub Technique

  1. Apply the Rub: Generously coat both sides of the ribs with your chosen rub. Use your hands to massage the spices into the meat, ensuring it’s evenly covered.
  2. Rest the Meat: Let the ribs sit with the rub on them for at least an hour, or overnight in the fridge for deeper flavour.
  3. Cooking: Slow cook the ribs in an oven preheated to 300Β°F (150Β°C) for about 2 to 3 hours, or until tender. Alternatively, you can grill them over indirect heat on a barbecue.

Recipe 1: Classic BBQ Rub

    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp onion powder
    • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

Method: Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix well until evenly distributed. Apply liberally to the ribs.

Recipe 2: Sweet and Spicy Rub

  • Ingredients:
    • 3 tbsp brown sugar
    • 2 tbsp smoked paprika

    • 1 tbsp chili powder
    • 1 tbsp ground cumin
    • 1 tsp black pepper
    • 1 tsp dried mustard
